Common questions

I have a question that isn’t answered here2026-04-28T16:46:40+01:00

Please email us at info@guildfordtastefestival.co.uk and we’ll get back to you within 2 working days. You can also follow us on Instagram and Facebook for the latest news and announcements.

Is there parking nearby?2026-04-28T16:46:16+01:00

There is limited parking in the area around Guildford Cricket Club. We recommend using local paid car parks in Guildford town centre and walking (approximately 15 minutes) or getting the train — Guildford station is about 15 minutes’ walk from the ground. Please plan your journey in advance, particularly on the Saturday when town can be busy.

What should I wear or bring?2026-04-28T16:46:01+01:00

The festival is mainly under cover in large marquees, but please dress appropriately for September weather — it can be cooler in the evenings and there are outdoor areas. There’s no need to bring cash specifically as most producers will accept card, though it’s always handy to have some. Your ticket (digital or printed) is required for entry.

Are dogs allowed?2026-04-28T16:45:44+01:00

Only official assistance dogs are permitted on site. We’re sorry — we’re unable to accommodate pets at the event.

How do I enter the Guildford Bake Competition?2026-04-28T16:45:29+01:00

The Guildford Bake Competition runs across all four sessions, with junior (under 16) and adult categories. To enter, add a bake competition entry when booking your festival ticket on Eventbrite. On the day, bring your finished bake to the competition area at least 15 minutes before judging begins. Full rules, category themes and judging criteria will be published closer to the event.

What are the tasting talks and how do I book?2026-04-28T16:45:16+01:00

Tasting talks are 45-minute sessions in dedicated tasting tents where you can meet local artisan food and drink producers, taste their products and hear their stories. Three tents run simultaneously each hour. There is an additional cost per talk to cover the tasting — prices and full details are listed on Eventbrite. Spaces are strictly limited and must be prebooked.

Is it suitable for families with young children?2026-04-28T16:45:02+01:00

Absolutely — the Guildford Taste Festival is a family-friendly event open to all ages. We have dedicated children’s entertainment running throughout each session, have-a-go activity stalls from local sports clubs, and plenty of open space for families. Children under 5 are completely free. Buggies are welcome.

Can I bring my own food and drink?2026-04-28T16:44:38+01:00

No alcohol may be brought into the event — the festival is fully licensed and we have the right to confiscate any alcohol brought in. Food is permitted into the event for personal consumption. However, with 70+ producers on site, there’s plenty to enjoy inside!

What food and drink can I buy at the event?2026-04-28T16:44:16+01:00

You’ll be spoilt for choice! We have over 70 local artisan producers — breweries, distilleries, vineyards, cider makers, street food caterers, artisan food producers, sweet treat makers and market stalls. For the full list, see our Who’s Showcasing page as producers are confirmed.

Do I need to book in advance?2026-04-28T16:43:51+01:00

Yes — we strongly advise booking in advance. Each session is limited to 1,500 people and sessions do sell out. We cannot guarantee ticket availability on the day, or even in the weeks before. Tasting talk places are even more limited and must be prebooked via Eventbrite.

How much does it cost and why do you charge?2026-04-28T16:43:36+01:00

This is a non-profit fundraising event — all profits go to Guildford Cricket Club and local charities. Ticket prices are:
Adults: £15 + booking fee (or £12 early bird until 1 July 2026)
Children 6–17: £5 + booking fee
Children under 5: completely free
Additional costs apply for tasting talk entries and bake competition entries — these are listed on Eventbrite.

Where does the festival take place?2026-04-28T16:43:22+01:00

The festival takes place at Guildford Cricket Club’s Sports Ground, Woodbridge Road, Guildford GU1 4RP. It is held mainly under large marquees at the Railway End of the ground, with outdoor seating and picnic areas throughout.
